ITa��S going to be a big hooray for the top team at the Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) awards in December.
There will be a total prize money of $1 100, a shield plus 20 gold medals for the league winners.
The associationa��s acting secretary-general Ralph Mukucha said teams that will finish as the second and third best will get $700 and $400 respectively. There will also be 20 silver medals and 20 bronze medals.
Just outside the podium the fourth placed team will receive $200.
a�?We are also going to have consolation prizes that will see a team that will finish the campaign on number five receive $70 and those that will come out between position six and eight will pocket $50 each. Those that will come out between number nine and 11, will each get $40. Prize monies of $25 each will be awarded to clubs that finish their respective campaigns between number 12 and 16,a�? said Mukucha.
With regards to the Division One and Division One B prizes, the top three clubs from the two divisions will get their monetary rewards and medals after engaging in playoffs.
a�?The top prize will be $700, a shield plus 20 gold medals. The second prize will be $550 and 20 gold medals. There will a third prize of $350 and 20 silver medals. The fourth prize will be $250 and 20 silver medals. The fifth best club will go home with $150 and 20 bronze medals. A prize of $100 and 20 bronze medals will be awarded to a team that will conclude the playoffs on number six,a�? said Mukucha.
Meanwhile, BPA clubs have been advised of a Special General Meeting that will be held sometime in November.
a�?The meeting will be for the purposes of discussing and adopting the Final Draft Constitutions of the province and districts. This is in line with the urgent need for the association to be legally complaint in regard to expectations of the Ministry of Sport and Recreation, Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) and the Zimbabwe Pool Association (Zipa). These new documents will spell out the structure of how pool is expected to be organized and run in 2018.
The main emphasis of these documents is the need to observe and implement the spirit of good corporate governance,a�? said Mukucha. . .
