GRADE Seven national examinations have started well in all schools around Manicaland Province with no reports of any kind of hindrances reported.
A check by this newspaper in schools around Mutare District revealed that a serious atmosphere prevailed with utmost silence being observed in corridors and classrooms.
Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Chief Director for Manicaland Province, Mr Richard Gabaza, said: “They (Grade seven examination) have started well.
“This is all because of the preparations that we carried out ahead of the start of the examinations. We had workshops across all districts in the province where the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education joined hands in imparting knowledge on all administration and management of exams, including invigilation.
“All schools have started their exams well in the province. So far exam papers have been deposited in the centers that they are kept where schools will be collecting them for their candidates. We have not heard of any incidents,” said Mr Gabaza.
