THE BULAWAYO Pool Associationas (BPA) crucial meeting that was meant to dissolve its executive committee was adjourned last Saturday at Raylton Recreation Club after only 16 clubs out of 48 sent representatives.
a?The meeting did not take place after only 16 teams were represented. The number failed to reach a quorum and in two weeks we are looking forward to having a successful meeting that will help us map the way forward for BPA and the growth of pool as a sport in particular,a? said BPA publicity secretary Farai Nyandoro.
a?Should there be 40 percent of the members (teams) present they will decide on who to elect into the interim executive,a? added Nyandoro.
Last week, BPA acting chairlady Christine Sengwe said they found it necessary to propose and effect the dissolution of the BPA executive committee as there are only eight active committee members and hardly enough to form a quorum and conduct BPA business effectively.
The association has been rocked by maladministration that has seen funds allegedly being embezzled by some of the executive members who were later suspended.
Executive and disciplinary committee member Rocker Mbuvah who also served the association as funeral fund chairman resigned from his position.A Vice-chairmanA Taweinei Nachi,A and Division One fixtures secretary Kuda Shoko also resigned.
Sengwe said at the dissolution gathering BPA members would be allowed to select an interim executive leadership with the hope that it would run the BPA affairs until the next elective Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Meanwhile, the second half of the BPA 2016 season resumes on Saturday for both Premier and Division One outfits.
