THE battle for snooker supremacy in Bulawayo is heating up after the Bulawayo Provincial Pool Association (BPPA) Cup last 16 draw was conducted on Thursday night.
Sixteen teams out of 74 have made it to this stage, with matches set for Sunday across four buzzing venues — Chillers Sports Bar in Nkulumane, Golden Pillars, Lobengula Sharks, and Nokkies.
The draw has lined up mouthwatering clashes. At Golden Pillars, Mnethi will face Lobengula Sharks before Premier Elite clash with Mazai Legends.
Chillers will host Elangeni against Entumbane, followed by Delta taking on Funda.
At Lobengula Sharks, Dropmark will go head-to-head with Dragons, while at Nokkies, Sibamba will battle
Renegades before QPA Elite square off against Bullets.
Perfect Liquor received a bye into the next round.
Tournament director Kudakwashe Shoko reminded teams to stick to the rules.
“We encourage teams to use bona fide players. Cup-tied players should not be used. We are looking forward to another exciting weekend,” he said.
The BPPA Cup, a yearly contest featuring Premier, Elite, and District clubs from Reigate, Mzilikazi, and the CBD, will see teams fight for glory and bragging rights.
Queens Pool Academy are the defending champions and will be watching closely as the competition unfolds.
