The spokesman told AFP that 25-year-old Thiago de Jesus Pereira was picked up early yesterday following an anonymous tip-off.
The three other suspects, including a 17-year-old, in Thursday’s death of 46-year-old Cinthya Magaly Moutinho de Souza in suburban Sao Paolo were detained over the weekend.
After bursting into the dentist’s office, the gang stole the victim’s credit card.
But as they were only able to withdraw a meagre US$15 from an automated teller machine, they returned to demand more money from the dentist.
Angry that she could not produce any, they set her alight with alcohol and escaped in a black car, according to police.
A police statement said the gang is suspected of carrying out robberies in other dental clinics in the area. — AFP.
