The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbra Rwodzi, has confirmed that the Sanganai World Tourism Expo will be held in Bulawayo for the foreseeable future.
However, she also emphasized that the event must rotate to other provinces to ensure equal opportunities for development.
Speaking at the Zimbabwe Tourism Invest Forum being held on the sidelines of the Expo Minister Rwodzi said: “Bulawayo has been a great host for the Sanganai World Tourism Expo, and we are pleased to confirm that it will continue to be held there for the foreseeable future.”
However, she added,: “We also believe that it is essential for the event to rotate to other provinces to ensure that all regions benefit from the tourism opportunities it presents. We will be working with stakeholders to identify suitable host cities in other provinces.”
The Sanganai-Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is one of Zimbabwe’s premier tourism events, attracting visitors from across the continent. Bulawayo has hosted the event since its inception, but there have been calls for it to be rotated to other provinces to promote tourism development nationwide.
