MANICALAND Provincial Chiefs Council chairman Senator Chief Mapungwana, born Mr Anias Mapungwana, has died.
Acting Director of Local Government Services for Manicaland , Mr John Misi confirmed the sad development, adding that the traditional leader collapsed during the Independence Day celebrations in Maphisa on Saturday and was rushed to United Bulawayo Hospital, from where he passed on this afternoon.
“Yes, we can confirm the passing of Chief Mapungwana this afternoon. Further details will be released in due course,” said Mr Misi.
