PANDEMONIUM gripped Bulawayo’s city centre early Sunday afternoon as a suspected armed robbery unfolded at the trendy Crystal Lounge.
Witnesses watched in horror as plain-clothed CID Homicide detectives stormed the scene, guns drawn, moments after reports of armed assailants targeting the popular hangout spot surfaced.
Details remained sketchy.
Heavily armed detectives have surrounded the building. Club owner Phathisani Nkomo has also arrived. He says one his employees who hid at a closet inside the bar made the distress call to him and he quickly alerted the detectives. The robbers are believed to be still inside the building, which has since been closed
