PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA will not extend his term of office beyond 2028 as he is a constitutionalist, even though ZANU PF members had proposed he extends his term to 2030.
Presenting resolutions at the ZANU PF National Annual People’s Conference on Saturday, Secretary for Legal Affairs Cde Patrick Chinamasa said President Mnangagwa had confided in him on numerous occasions that he has no wish to extend his mandate beyond the Constitutional provisions.
“His Excellency said he had a hand in crafting the current Constitution … I met him three times and he said he has no wish to extend his mandate beyond 2028 …,” Cde Chinamasa said.
