The High Court has nullified the second suspension of the Mayor of Harare, Councillor Bernanrd Manyenyeni.

Justice Lavender Makoni allowed Cllr Manyenyeni to go back to work and barred the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Saviour Kasukuwere from resuspending him pending determination of a Supreme Court challenge on whether or not the minister has powers to suspend mayors.

Meanwhile, Cllr Manyenyeni was picked up by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission soon after the ruling.
