BREAKING NEWS: Phiri retains PSL chairmanship

twine phiri win psl elections18 (1)Twine Phiri  was retained as the Premier Soccer League chairman after beating his contender Kenny Ndebele  during the clubs’ general meeting this in Harare today. Phiri of CAPS United polled 12 votes while Mubaiwa of Dynamos got three votes. Only one club ZPC Kariba -failed to turn up for the meeting. Peter Dube of Highlanders was elected the vice chairman, unopposed. Phiri was first elected in 2010 and will now get another four year term.

It was a double blow for Mubaiwa as his side Dynamos also lost 1-0 to AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the African Champions League.
