First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe has called for the dismissal of Prosecutor-General Mr Johannes Tomana following his recent remarks about the age of sexual consent. Tomana was quoted as having said girls as young as 12 must be listened to by the courts if they wish to start families with older men because they are capable of giving consent to sex. Speaking during the commissioning of $3million worth of earth moving equipment and ground breaking ceremony for housing stands in Kadoma Dr Mugabe said it is people with Tomana’s mind who stifle development in the country.
“Hatidi munhu anofarisa kana ari pabasa, kana usingazive zvekutaura vhara muromo wako (We don’t want people who are easily excited when at work, if you don’t know what to say keep your mouth shut),” said Dr Mugabe.
