BREAKING NEWS: Zim expelled from 2018 World Cup

The Zimbabwe national soccer team, Warriors has been expelled from 2018 FIFA Soccer World Cup qualifying matches for failing to pay former coach Jose Claudinei Georgini.

Jose who is popularly known as Valinhos won his appeal to Fifa over outstanding $60 000 salary against the Zimbabwe Football Association.

In a statement, FIFA said they have banned Zimbabwe “as a result of the non-payment of an outstanding debt”.

“The FIFA disciplinary committee today notified the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) that it was expelled from the preliminary competition of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.”
