Business at the Harare Magistrates’ Court is currently at a standstill as police officers are searching for a prisoner who produced a knife during proceedings and escaped from a Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) officer who was guarding him.
It is alleged that the prisoner stripped the officer of his uniform and wore it.
So far, it is unclear whether the unidentified prisoner has left the court premises or is still hiding inside.
At least six ZPCS trucks have arrived as back up as they search for the fugitive.
