BREAKING: Tenax bounce back into PSL

MUTARE will have two top-flight league teams in the 2024 season after prisons and correctional services outfit Tenax won the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League championship to bounce back into the Premiership.

The prison wardens were promoted on the final day of the season after wallowing JM Busha 6-1 at Mutare Showground Arena, on a day that bitter rivals FC Wangu Mazodze were held to a 1-1 stalemate by troublesome Renco Mine.

The other horse in the race, Bikita Minerals, also drew in a morale-sapping 1-1 stalemate at Grayham in Ruwa.

The development is likely to leave the Manicaland Province with three Premiership football clubs, including Manica Diamonds, GreenFuel and the new entrants Tenax; that is if the Chisumbanje-based ethanol producers are not relegated on the final day of PSL matches to the less fashionable world of Division One.
