BREAKING: Zimbabwe extends Covid-19 lockdown

Zimbabwe has extended the level four national Covid-19 lockdown by a further two weeks, Acting President and Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Constantino Chiwenga has announced.

The extended strict movement control will now end on February 15.

The Acting President said President Mnangagwa had decided to extend the movement controls following a spike in Covid-19 infections and deaths.

Dr Chiwenga said the extension has been necessitated by the need to save lives, noting that the President was aware of the negative disruptions caused by the lockdown.
