Reigning Miss Planet Zimbabwe Brenda Kadewa (24) is set to represent the nation at the Miss Planet International Pageant in

Cambodia from November 20 to November 30.

Miss Planet is a diverse and Inclusive platform for women to take up leadership roles in alignment with the UN’s sustainable

developmental goals (SDGs) established in 2019.

Born and bred in Kuwadzana, Kadewa’s path to success was no walk in the park as her family was against her career choice due

to their conservative background.

In a brief interview, Kadewa shared her future plans.

“As Miss Planet Zimbabwe, I will embark on a journey to promote Zimbabwe’s culture, tourism, and values,” she said.

“I am still grappling with everything and I appreciate everyone who has been supporting me through this journey.”

She began her career at the age of 16 participating in the Miss Tourism Metropolitan Harare pageant.

Currently, she is studying Tourism and Hospitality while working as a professional makeup artist.

National Director of Miss Planet Zimbabwe Joanah Mandemwa who will be accompanying Brenda felt honoured to have such

reigns bestowed upon her.

“Brenda’s resilience and dedication to her craft is truly inspiring and I have no doubt she will make Zimbabwe proud,” she said.
