the second year from college has improved immensely.
The golfer had rave reviews for his FedEx Cup standing and final money list after the season.
De Jonge stands at 60 and 76 on the FedEx and money list standings respectively.
Brian Warker gave credit to de Jonge and he believes he is one of the few players who have managed to improve very much in his game.
“Certain players play well at certain venues or in particular areas of the country. Count Brendon de Jonge a Zimbabwean who matriculated at Virginia Tech, as one of them.
“The golfer’s tie for fourth at this year’s Greenbrier Classic was his second straight top10 in the event.
“Jimmy Walker was the only other player to record top-10s in the first two years of that event.
“The rest of de Jonge’s season was pretty good, too.
“For a second straight year he had double digits in top-25 finishes with 10.
” As a result, he also finished in the top 60 of the FedEx Cup standings for a second consecutive season.
“The key to de Jonge’s success was his accuracy.
“The golfer now ranked in the top 65 in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation in 2011, and he was 42nd in Strokes Gained-Putting.
“That can add up to a lot of good results, and fewer missed cuts.
“After missing 13 and making 14 cuts in 2009 and 2007, respectively, de Jonge reduced that number down to eight for a second year in a row,” Wacker said.
Born in Zimbabwe the several times junior and amateur champion de Jonge went to United States on a golf scholarship and is likely to keep his game improving.
The golfer together with former rival during their local junior and amateur dominance Bruce Mcdonald they represented the county at the world cup golf championships in China last month.
The golfers did not disappoint as they came.
De Jonge will be one to watch in next year’s US PGA tournaments having made his presence felt for the last two years he graduated.
“Three past winners on the PGA tour gave their evaluation on de Jonge for the pgatour.com,” Chris Demarco said
“Brendon might have been one of the top-10 most consistent players on TOUR. He had a ton of top-10s last year. He’s one of those guys who needs to believe in himself more coming down the stretch.
“We’ll see him in the winner’s circle soon. Arron Oberholser went on to say “With his ability to put himself on the first page of the leaderboard, it’s only a matter of time before he gets that first win,” he said.
While Craig Perk was also happy for de Jonge as he said
“The big man from Zimbabwe had a solid year in 2011.
“Three more finishes of 10th or better gives Brendon 10 in his last two years on TOUR.
“Continuing to put himself in contention will give him a great deal of confidence heading into 2012,” Perk said.
