FORMER Hwange and Chicken Inn striker Brighton Makopa could be part of Highlanders’ surprise packages of the second half of the Castle Lager Premiership.

Makopa was on the books of Chicken Inn last year and in the first half of the season.

He however did not get game time having fallen foul of the club’s high expectations.
James Rugwevera whose Mpopoma Sports Academy owns the player’s rights, confirmed that he had reached an agreement with Chicken Inn last month.

“We parted amicably with Chicken Inn, now the boy can go to the field and compete for a place. He is a good striker who can give a coach up to 10 goals and beyond a season. He has had even to take a salary cut to get playing time.

There is so much creative at Bosso for him to benefit and get himself on the scoreboard. He is a born and bred Bulawayo son now playing for every boy’s dream side,” said Rugwevera.
Acting Highlanders chairman Kindman Ndlovu said the club will confirm arrivals and departures once the office confirms.

“The administrator will be in the office later today to get a clear picture from the player registration system. I will be in a position once I have facts,” said Ndlovu.

While Chicken Inn on Tuesday morning refused to comment about departures from the club.
The club’s media department said Junior Makunike from Hardrock, Garie Junior Chibika had arrived from Lions Aacdemy with Edmore Chirambadare coming from Magesi FC of South Africa were the mid season signings.
