RETIRED British boxer Kell Brook, who is expected in Harare this Saturday, will tour boxing academies in Gwanda and Masvingo, tour promoters have said.

The 40-year-old, who only lost three bouts out of 40, is expected in Zimbabwe courtesy of Proma Events Africa and the Manyuchi Boxing Academy.

Brook’s maiden tour of the country has been sanctioned by the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (ZNBWCB).

Speaking ahead of Brook’s visit, Proma Events Africa chief executive Blessing Jeke said they are taking Brook to various academies to empower them.

“We are expecting Brook on Saturday, and on Monday, we are taking him to Gwanda for a familiarisation tour of the area’s boxing academies, courtesy of the Minister of Provincial Affairs for Matabeleland South, Albert Nguluvhe. This will be a perfect opportunity for athletes from the region to learn from him.

“On Tuesday, we will take him to Masvingo for another familiarisation tour of the Great Zimbabwe monuments.”

“After the Masvingo tour, Brook will have an opportunity to meet aspiring boxers in Harare, and later a meet-and-greet session will be held at the Mudiwa Hood Arena.”
