BROTHERS IN ARMS

Bruce Chikuni

KNOWLEDGE and Walter Musona appear to be enjoying their football in their different leagues where they ply their trade.

The former Warriors skipper got the party started on Thursday, after netting a hatrick for Al-Tai, in the Saudi Pro League.

He opened his account for this campaign in style, to down the visitors, Al-Khaleej 3-0, in his second season at the Saudi side.

Last season, he bagged nine goals in 29 matches.

The current Saudi season is still in its infancy, with only six games played so far.

But, the former Warriors’ skipper clearly wants to improve on his statistics from last season.

Walter is also leaving no stone unturned in his attempt to get his hands on his first Castle Lager Premiership title.

He has been shouldering the scoring burden for FC Platinum for the better part of the season.

His 53th minute strike was all the champions needed to beat Herentals at Mandava on Saturday.

It was his 11th goal of the season, a tally he can extend in the league’s remaining four games.

Walter also has six assists to his name.

Some are already suggesting that he is the PSL’s best player.

He seems to have stepped out of his brother’s shadow.

Knowledge has often been regarded as the better player, by a considerable distance.

But it’s also fair to acknowledge the way Walter has kept the family’s name alive in domestic football.

His return to Zvishavane has been a key factor in the miners’ quest for their fourth title on the bounce.

Knowledge’s side is set to visit Al-Raed today.

They are just two places ahead of their opponents, who are eighth, on the league table.

The two sides are separated by three points.
