A DAMAFALLS man has been accused of raping his young brother’s wife, during counselling, sometime in 2013.
Taurai Murebwa’s case came to light on Sunday after the victim disclosed the alleged rape to her husband.
He was reported to have visited his young brother’s wife, to counsel her, following problems with her husband in March 2013.
Taurai entered the one room they rented and sat at one corner of the bed while she sat on the other end.
He allegedly raped her once without protection.
She was 19 at the time.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed that a rape case had been opened and appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of Taurai.
“Police are investigating a rape case that took place in March 2013 at a house in St Mary’s,” said Insp Chakanza.
“The victim was threatened and she remained silent until July 4, when she disclosed the rape to her husband and lodged a report against the perpetrator.
“The suspect is yet to be arrested,” said Insp Chakanza.
