Bruised Macheso comes to Bulawayo

NO man wants to be in sungura musician Alick Macheso’s shoes right now. Probably the biggest question in music circles is “Will Macheso make a BIG comeback?”  That will be answered at his show scheduled for the Bulawayo Amphitheatre tomorrow. Considering that everything “big” matters, the man’s confidence has been dented in the ongoing divorce case with his ex-wife Tafadzwa Mapako.
It turns out, while of late his music career was on a downward spiral, his bedroom woes were also piling up.
For us men, believe it or not- size matters. It could be the size of one’s wallet, car engine or manhood.

Claims that the guy who gave us Zimbabwe’s version of the moonwalk (Borrowdale dance), can twist his pelvis like Elvis Presley but those movements can’t be taken to the bedroom – changes one’s perception about the “all mighty” crowd pleaser.

If you want to floor a man with a lethal knockout blow, disrespect his manhood. Never mind if true or false as long as a man’s manhood has been measured below average – the man has been “killed.”

Sex is a big deal. Even Sigmund Freud, father of Psychiatry, said that men have a sexual thought consciously or subconsciously every three seconds.

That is what Tafadzwa did to Alick Macheso when she is alleged to have said the multiple award winner had a “small one”.
Her revelations go against what research says about African men and their anatomy.

The next time Macheso is on stage, chances are some malicious people will be thinking of the “small one”.
However, Macheso’s manager William Tsandukwa said Extra Basso would not be deterred by Tafadzwa’s utterances recently quoted in some sections of the media.

Tsandukwa said fans should also expect new songs from Baba Sharo’s upcoming album on which producer Bothwell Nyamhondera has come on board.

There is no question about it; Macheso like most men has a big ego. As an African man like most of us, he became the poster boy of a cliché.
He is the model man who has made it in life, darling of the nation, probably the guy whose song is the one you scooped your wife with.
Resultantly the big ego meant that there was no harm in marrying a second wife.

Macheso’s first wife, Nyadzisai, who has been with the man way before he made it, supported the stereotype that her husband “The big machine” had to marry another wife to help her with chores and probably baby making.

To restore his deflated ego there is only one way – the only way he knows best – music.
All he needs now is to start making chart topping music again not counting his disastrous album Kwatakabva Mitunhu.
The album came at a time when he was already facing marital problems.

He told the press that it was experimental.
In one way the divorce could be an excellent career move. Maybe and just maybe it’s time for Macheso to get “sorry sympathy” from the music market – after all he needs a hit.
