A cop based at Buchwa Police Station in Mberengwa shot and killed himself following a domestic dispute. The now deceased police constable has been identified as Paulette Chikamhi. Police sources said the incident happened on Monday.

Chikami was having problems with his wife. He snatched an AK47 riffle from a fellow workmate and turned it on himself. “Chikamhi and his wife have been having problems for sometime. On Monday morning, he came to work looking very low. He later took a rifle from a fellow police officer and went home after which he shot himself on the head in his bedroom,” said the source.

A witness, Mr Brian Matate, said they went and made a report at Buchwa Charge Office and police who attended the scene found Chikamhi’s body lying in a pool of blood. Midlands acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende could not comment yesterday.
