Bucs dreams shattered

Cape Town — Orlando Pirates dream of winning another continental trophy are over after they lost to Etoile du Sahel in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final, going down 1-0 on the day and 2-1 on aggregate. Coming into the match, Pirates knew they needed to score against a team with a phenomenal home record.

Unfortunately, a handling error by Pirates goalkeeper Felipe Ovono gifted a goal to Ammar Jemal and from that point on Pirates had a mountain to climb.

Try as they might, the Buccaneers could not work an opening for an equaliser with Etoile du Sahel goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi pulling off some incredible saves, none more so than the one he produced to keep out a Sifiso Myeni free-kick in the 89th minute.— Sport24.
