Budiriro sewage pool turns deadly as three are found dead

Remember Deketeke

Three bodies were retrieved early this morning from a muddy sewage pool in Budiriro 3, Harare.

The muddy pool in KwaMiki was left open by Council workers who were working on a sewer line.

When our news crew arrived at the scene this morning, the Zimbabwe Republic Police were collecting the bodies from the scene.

A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said two young men were walking from the shops when one of them stepped on the muddy pool and sank.

“Emergency Services came and the diver went into the pool looking for the young man,” he said.

“Instead, the rescue diver retrieved the body of a young girl who had reportedly disappeared around 6pm yesterday while going to the local shops.

“The diver went back into the muddy pool and retrieved the body of an older man, instead of the young man who had reportedly sunk in the pool.”

“On the third attempt, that is when the rescue diver retrieved the young man’s body.”

More details will be availed as this story develops.
