DEBUTANTES ZPC Kariba and Mutare outfit Buffaloes played a goalless draw in a dull match at Sakubva Stadium yesterday.
The result, however, left ZPC coach Saul Chaminuka a happy man after scooping a well deserved point away from home.
Both teams showed flashes of brilliance and numerous attempts at goal against each other although Buffaloes were the hungrier of the two.

Admire Dzumbunu shot over the bar in the 36th minute with ZPC goalkeeper Tendai Hove a beaten man.
The dull match was attended by less than 400 fans who expected nothing but a better show or something near to a sterling performace that Buffaloes showed against Bulawayo side, Chicken Inn at Sakubva Stadium two weeks earlier.

Both teams never looked potent until the last 10 minutes of the second half when ZPC played better.
Chaminuka, in a post match interview, said they were lucky to get a point against a team that really worked hard for three points.

“That was a team which I was working with and I expected such a result. Buffaloes were a team that I worked with and if that team had won, it was going to be a well deserved win because I worked with the majority of the players. I am, however, overally happy with my team’s performance,” he said.

Buffaloes’ gaffer, Luke Masomere said ZPC played better in the first half but faltered and lost concentration in the second half.
“We were not very sharp upfront and the result was okay. It does not mean that when you are playing at home you should win all games every time. We, however, need to re-organise  in the next match and to be more precise in front of goal. We were not composed upfront,” Masomere said.

Teams:
Buffaloes: B Mwandimutsira, S Choenda, M Gutu, P Matizanadzo, T Mombeshora, P Chandisaita, F Bushiri, J Takunda, P Thembani (L Katongomara 65th minute), R Mwenga (J Muzokomba 65th minute), A Dzumbunu (M Fenyeka 70th minute)

ZPC Kariba: T Hove, T Ranthokoane, D Phiri, E Mwinga, D Danda, P Tafirenyika, T Munyanduri, R Manuvire, M Makanje, T Nyamandwe (A Nyamhiwa 76th minute), C Masocha
