RESIDENTS across Bulawayo are expected to experience water supply disruptions from today until July 20, 2026, as the local authority undertakes scheduled maintenance on the Flowserve raw water pumping line.
In a notice, Bulawayo Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube said the maintenance works would significantly reduce the volume of raw water reaching the Criterion Water Works, affecting treated water production across the city.
“During this period, raw water delivered to Criterion Water Works will be reduced by approximately 50 percent, and this reduction will significantly affect the quantity of treated water available for distribution across the city,” read the notice.
To ensure fair distribution of the limited water available, the city has temporarily suspended the current water-shedding schedule.
“To ensure the equitable distribution of the available water supplies, the current water shedding programme will be temporarily suspended and replaced with a 120-hour water shedding programme for all feeders until the maintenance works are completed and normal pumping operations are restored,” read the notice.
