THE Bulawayo Athletics Board (Bab) chairperson Watson Madanyika says registration for the national level One coaching course set for White City Stadium next month is now open and the association is expecting a huge turnout.
The course will run from August 26 to 29.
The course has attracted a lot of interest from aspiring coaches who have been working without the qualifications.
The registration fee has been pegged at US$50.

Madanyika said: “We are working towards ensuring that we have qualified coaches doing the training specifically at schools. We hope all those that are coaching but are not qualified will take advantage of this opportunity.”
He said the association had completed all lined up track and field events as per their calendar.
“We no longer have track events on our calendar but we might have one in September. There’s a track and field club which wants to host an event at White City Stadium but nothing is official yet,” said Madanyika.
The major marathon events that were not held this year include Old Mutual Nkulumane Half marathon and The PPC Matopos marathon which was scheduled for April.
According to the Bab calendar, the remaining road races planned for this year include the Rail Trail marathon, Hope Fountain 30km road race and the Liquor Hub half marathon scheduled for December.
