Blessing Ndlovu was sentenced by Magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga at the Western Commonage court for possession of dagga without a permit or license.
Prosecuting, Ms Audrey Kufandikanwe told the court that on 22 May 2025, at around 1105pm, police officers from ZRP Cowdray Park were on patrol in the suburb when they approached Ndlovu, who is employed as a barber and introduced themselves.
They informed him that they wanted to conduct a search of his workplace.
During the search, the police found a plastic bag containing 12 sachets of dagga inside the barber shop. This led to Ndlovu’s arrest, and he was taken to ZRP Cowdray Park along with the dagga. The recovered dagga was weighed at ZimPost and found to be a total of 59 grams.
The dagga, which is currently held at CID drugs Bulawayo, has an approximate street value of ZWG360.
