BASKETBALL fans can now follow action in the Bulawayo Basketball League online via the NB23 Swish App.

The app allows fans to follow live scores, line-ups, statistics as well as player profiles.

Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) president Sinda Mono said the app was a first in the country.

“We are still in the early stages of the use of the app. In future fans will be able to watch live action. We are in the process of ensuring that fans catch live action, but it’s a bit expensive so we are looking for a sponsor to help as we continue to market our brand,” said Mono.

Teams in the BBA league include the likes of Mavericks, Highlanders, City Knights, City Royals, Giants, Lakers, Legends, Clippers, Oilers and Nust.

Meanwhile, three local referees are officiating in the preliminaries of the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) Africa Champions Cup Women 2021, Zone 5 taking place in Dar es Salam, Tanzania.

The three are Brilliance Ncube from Bulawayo, Vincensa Dyanda from Kwekwe and veteran Joyce Annie Muchenu from Harare. – @innocentskizoe
