BULAWAYO Chiefs went into the halftime break with a deserved 1-0 advantage over ZPC Kariba in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Week 25 encounter at Luveve Stadium on Sunday.

The Ninjas produced an energetic first-half display, dominating possession for long periods and creating the better scoring opportunities as they looked to build on last week’s morale-boosting victory over Highlanders.

Chiefs were rewarded for their positive approach with the breakthrough goal, giving the home supporters plenty to cheer about after a lively opening 45 minutes.

ZPC Kariba struggled to impose themselves for much of the half but remained in the contest and will be hoping for an improved second-half performance to salvage something from the match.

With a slender one-goal cushion, Chiefs will be aiming to maintain their intensity after the break and secure a valuable three points in front of their home fans, while the visitors face an uphill battle to overturn the deficit.
