CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League new boys Bulawayo City were boosted ahead of their Saturday clash against Tsholotsho FC when civil engineering company Asphalt Products donated two playing kits to the municipal side.
City’s acting chief executive officer Mackenzie Moyo said the donation had cushioned them and they would use some money they had budgeted for kit towards their development sides.
Moyo also appealed for more assistance from Bulawayo-based companies.
“As a new club, we have so many challenges in terms of resources and through this donation we have saved quite a lot. This means we will channel resources elsewhere and develop our juniors. As a local authority, we expect stakeholders that we work with to come on board and assist,” said Moyo.
Francis Magwendeza of Asphalt said his company felt obliged to give back to the community they operate in.
“The Bulawayo City Council is one of our biggest clients and this donation is part of our corporate social responsibility programmes,” said Magwendeza.
City captain Xolisani Moyo said the Puma-branded kit was comfortable.
According to the kit manufacturers, the fabric is soft, lightweight for superior moisture management that conducts heat and sweat away from the body to keep players cool and dry in warm conditions.
