Bulawayo City, Zebra, Chiefs yet to drop points

THREE clubs Bulawayo City, Zebra Revolution and Bulawayo Chiefs, are the only clubs that are yet to drop points in the Zifa Southern Region Division One league, which entered into round two at the weekend.

League returnees, Bulawayo City posted their second consecutive win of the season when they edged Nust 2-1.

The Mkhokheli Dube mentored Zebra Revolution achieved the same after getting the better of Blackrock on a 1-0 score line.

Former Premier Soccer League side Bulawayo Chiefs, also managed to grind a positive result when they beat fellow seasoned campaigners Casymn 1-0.

City sit at the apex of the log standings, courtesy of a superior goal difference of positive 4, Zebra Revolution and Bulawayo Chiefs are on a goal difference of positive 2, two points ahead of fourth placed Hwange, who dismissed Talen Vision 2-0.

Bulawayo Chiefs are under the guidance of veteran, Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe. At the weekend, the club’s attacking unit showed flashes of brilliance, creating several scoring opportunities.
However, Jongwe highlighted the team’s need to improve their finishing.

“We are creating chances and I hope the conversion will improve as we go. The win improves Bulawayo Chiefs’ standings in the league as they have landed on six points,” he said.
Jongwe remains focused on the team’s primary objective.

“We have played two games and have six points, I feel we are still within our primary objective of getting promoted back to the Premier League,” said the coach.

His team will be facing Bosso90 in their next fixture.
In their previous fixture, Bosso90 beat newboys Eagle Life 1-0, to take their points tally to four.
