“Two cases tested positive for Covid-19 today. One is a male returnee from the United Kingdom and the second is a truck driver who initially tested positive in Zambia and again tested positive on re-testing in Harare,” read the ministry’s statement.

“Today 671 RDT testing screening tests and 279 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 28 019 (15 455 RDT and 12 564 PCR tests). In an interview, acting Bulawayo provincial medical director Dr Welcome Mlilo said Covid-19 patients in the province were in stable condition, while four had already recovered.

He said one of the recoveries is of one of two patients who were at the isolation entre at Elangeni Training Centre in Khumalo suburb.

“Our patients are all in a stable condition. Four have recovered already and so far, one of the patients who was at Elangeni has since been discharged and we have one patient there now. The patients are all stable and the rest of them are in self-isolation at home. Currently, we have no patient needing clinical care,” said Dr Mlilo. — @andile_tshuma
