Digital stars descend on Gwanda for debut Content Creators Connect

AFTER an earlier postponement due to unforeseen circumstances, Gwanda’s Content Creators Connect is back on track, with the inaugural event now set for August 8 in the town.
The gathering organised by local creative T Schedule, will be the first event of its kind in the mining town, bringing together established and emerging digital creators for a day of networking, knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Beyond celebrating content creation, the initiative seeks to inspire more young people in Gwanda to venture into the digital space and build a stronger local creative community.
Speaking to Chronicle Showbiz, T Schedule said the event was born out of a desire to address the shortage of active content creators in Gwanda and encourage residents to support homegrown talent.
“Gwanda lacks content creators. People usually support content creators from other parts of the country, particularly Mashonaland, so I came up with this event to give Gwanda’s creators a chance to shine,” he said.

“I created it to inspire my fellow Gwanda citizens to start producing content and to support local creators. That’s why I decided to invite prominent content creators so people can see how serious this initiative is.”
The inaugural edition has been deliberately limited to about 100 invited guests to encourage meaningful interaction, although organisers hope to expand the event in future.
A star-studded lineup of digital personalities is expected to attend, including Mai TT, Sekuru Bitterness, Abu Dhabi, Ashton TXL, Yung Steazy, Bunandi, Lincoln Magabo, Mabrijo from South Africa, Alleta Nonhlanhla and Nxumz.
The entertainment programme will feature performances by Zagoe Radge, Black Operator, Mfanomsotho and Psalmist Dumo Moyo, while Calvin Mangena is expected to confirm his participation.
T Schedule said securing Mai TT for the event was particularly important because of the inspiration she offers aspiring creators.
“She has made it in life and has shown resilience in the content creation space. She demonstrates that everything is possible. She speaks about real-life experiences and does not fake it. I wanted her to set an example for aspiring creators in Gwanda,” he said.
The programme will include panel discussions on content creation, networking opportunities and mentorship sessions designed to help emerging creators connect with experienced influencers and learn how to grow sustainable digital brands.
Organisers hope the event will lay the foundation for an annual platform that nurtures local talent, strengthens collaboration and positions Gwanda as an emerging hub for Zimbabwe’s growing content creation industry.
