Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Edwin Ndlovu arrested on extortion charge

THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has confirmed the arrest of Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Edwin Ndlovu, Councillor Ntandoyenkosi Ndlovu and former Councillor Rodney Jele on charges of extortion.

ZACC spokesperson Ms Simiso Mlevu confirmed the arrests, saying the three are facing extortion charges.

“The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission confirms the arrest of Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Edwin Ndlovu, Councillor Ntandoyenkosi Ndlovu, and former Councillor Rodney Jele on a charge of extortion,” said Ms Mlevu.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged offence were not immediately available.

More details are expected to emerge as investigations continue.
