Bulawayo drug and substance abuse committee holds workshop

THE Bulawayo Provincial Drug and Substance Committee is holding a two-day workshop on the subject, which will tackle a number of topical issues.

The workshop, which kicks off today, Tuesday, is being held at a lodge just outside Bulawayo and will be graced by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Judith Ncube.

Some of the topics that will be discussed include an overview of the National Development Strategy 2 and its relevance to drug and substance abuse interventions. The topic will be facilitated by the Public Service Commission.

The Department of Social Welfare will present a topic on unpacking the Zimbabwe Multi-Sectoral Drug and Substance Abuse Plan (2024-2030), while the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Criminal Investigations Department Drugs and Narcotics will present on policies governing drug and substance abuse, as well as supply reduction pillar interventions.
