A grieving family in Bulawayo is seeking answers and justice after two brothers, Zibusiso Ndlovu and Malachi Ndlovu, met tragic ends under suspicious circumstances.
The brothers worked at Tapiwa Moyo’s car repair shop in New Magwegwe, a business long suspected of involvement in car hijackings in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
According to a family source, Zibusiso was found murdered in March 2020 under unclear circumstances. His brother Malachi suffered a similar fate, two years later in May 2022, where he was attacked by four unknown assailants and dying en route to the hospital. The attackers fled the scene, leaving the family with more questions than answers.
“We believe our brothers were victims of their boss’s criminal activities,” said a relative, who wished to remain anonymous. “They had tried to conspire with their half-brother, Sikhumbuzo Ndlovu, who worked at Marisha Cocktail bar, also owned by Moyo, to expose his illegal dealings.”
The family alleges that both brothers had attempted to come forward as state witnesses, with Malachi and Sikhumbuzo approaching the police just before Malachi’s murder. The family is now calling for a thorough investigation into the deaths and Moyo’s business dealings.
“We demand justice for our loved ones and the truth about Tapiwa Moyo’s activities,” said the relative. “No family should suffer like we have. We urge the authorities to take action and bring those responsible to account.”
The police have confirmed the investigations are ongoing, but no arrests have been made yet. Tapiwa Moyo has denied any involvement in the brothers’ deaths and any illegal activities, calling the allegations “baseless and malicious”.
However, the family source revealed that Moyo had boasted to some of his employees that he was untouchable as not only was he connected within the police force but he had connections within both Zimbabwe and South Africa, to deal with the family if they attempted to interfere with his operations.
As the family searches for answers, they hope that their loved ones’ deaths will not be in vain and that justice will be served.
