THE Bulawayo Investment Indaba has kicked off, spotlighting the city’s vast investment opportunities as authorities intensify efforts to attract local and foreign capital to stimulate economic growth and accelerate industrial revival.
The two-day event is being held under the theme: “Unlocking Strategic Investment Opportunities for Sustainable Industrial Transformation.”

Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube is set to grace the event as the Guest of Honour on Friday for the official opening.
Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Senator Monica Mutsvangwa is a key speaker, while Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith Ncube is the host.
The conference is being convened as a flagship national investment and economic development forum aimed at fostering strategic partnerships, promoting investment, strengthening industrialisation and empowering women as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The event is strategically aligned with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and the Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy 2 (ZNIDP 2), both running from 2026 to 2030, alongside the Local Content Strategy, which runs until 2035.
On Thursday, Senator Mutsvangwa will deliver an address on “Women as Catalysts for Investment, Industrial Growth and Local Economic Transformation.”
Other speakers include Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) chief executive officer Mr Tafadzwa Chinamo, National Economic Consultative Forum Acting Executive Secretary Mr Muzi Mutize, Dinson Iron and Steel Company chief executive officer Mr Benson Xu and Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries chief executive officer Ms Sekai Kuvarika, among others.
