NTABAZINDUNA Prison and Bulawayo Jumbos will battle for survival in their last games of the season as the curtain comes down in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League tomorrow. They are tied on 35 points and one of the teams will join Ajax Hotspurs, Mkhosana and Rufaro Rovers that have already been relegated.
The prison officers have a superior goal difference.
Ntabazinduna has an easy fixture against already relegated Ajax Hotspurs while Bulawayo Jumbos’ encounter is tricky as they play against Tsholotsho FC.
Jumbos coach Dalubuhle Bhebhe said Ntabazinduna were at an advantage because they had more goals.
“They had three walkovers this season while we played all our games and as a result they have a superior goal difference,” said Bhebhe.
He said his team will ensure they win their game against Tsholotsho although their fate depends on the outcome between Ntabazinduna and Ajax Hotspurs game. Zifa Southern Region Secretary Sydney Madzimbo said the issue of walkovers caused a lot of complications to the league. “We have to adopt stiffer penalties for teams that fail to fulfil their fixtures,” he said..
Hwange Juniors will be seeking to spoil Bulawayo Chiefs’ party mood when they face the champions at the dilapidated Dingumuzi Stadium in Plumtree.
