A 36-year-old Bulawayo man, Thembelani Muzamba, is facing serious charges after he allegedly raped his neighbor six times within a 24-hour period.
The incidents reportedly occurred while both individuals were intoxicated. The case was brought to the attention of the Bulawayo regional magistrate court, where Muzamba appeared before Magistrate Shingirai Mutiro.
He has been remanded in custody until the trial’s continuation.
The state alleged on October 27 Muzamba stormed at the victim’s house naked around 10 pm and found her sleeping.
Allegedly, he forced himself on her, raping her without protection before fleeing the scene, leaving her in a deep sleep. Muzamba reportedly returned shortly afterwards, woke her up, and sexually assaulted her again, repeating this pattern six times throughout the night.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police, leading to Muzamba’s arrest. The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather more details on this troubling case. (Byo24)
