A MAN from Old Pumula in Bulawayo bled to death after he was stabbed by a yet-to-be-identified assailant at a sports bar in the suburb.

Confirming the incident, the acting provincial spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said residents should desist from carrying dangerous weapons such as screwdrivers, knives and machetes and axes in public places

She said the incident occurred on Sunday around 12.30 midnight when the deceased’s sister received a call, to the effect that her younger brother Daniel Nkomo (29) had been stabbed.

“She heard that he was stabbed in the right thigh by an unknown accused person whilst drinking beer at a Sports Bar in Pumula South. She then proceeded to the scene where she saw some people gathered surrounding the now deceased who was bleeding profusely. She hired a taxi, which ferried Daniel Nkomo to Mpilo Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” she said.
