Bulawayo man nabbed for crystal meth

A 28-YEAR-OLD man from New Parklands in Bulawayo has been sentenced to five months in prison after he was found in possession of crystal meth.

Allen Munesti recently appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Challenge Mahembe facing a charge of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced. He was ordered to pay a fine of US$150 or serve three months in prison and two months of the sentence was suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.

The court heard that on 9 March 2024 at around 7pm, detectives from CID drugs and narcotics received a tip-off that Munesti was selling drugs at a garage along Gwanda Road. They proceeded to the location and spotted the culprit who was driving an unregistered Blue Toyota Passo and followed the vehicle which was heading towards Bradfield.

Detectives signalled Munesti to stop but he did not comply and they fired two warning shots, he stopped the vehicle. The detectives approached Munesti and introduced themselves, they conducted a search. The police recovered a transparent plastic which contained five small sachets of white granules of crystal meth weighing three grams. This led to his arrest.
