Bulawayo man pleads guilty to stabbing twin brother over leftover food

A 26-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man has appeared in court after stabbing his twin brother twice on the head with a kitchen knife during a heated argument over leftover isitshwala and chicken.

Maqhawe Ncube, from Iminyela suburb, pleaded guilty to physical abuse charges when he appeared before Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Archie Wochiwunga. He was remanded in custody to tomorrow for sentencing.

Prosecuting, Ms Audrey Kufandikanwe told the court that the incident occurred on July 23 at around 7PM.
“On that date, Maqhawe and his twin brother, Mabutho Ncube, were at their residence when an argument broke out over leftover isitshwala and chicken. In a fit of anger, the accused grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother twice on the head,” she said.

Mabutho sustained deep cuts and was rushed to hospital for treatment. A police report was filed, leading to Maqhawe’s arrest.
