THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Netball League action will resume this weekend with teams fulfilling their outstanding fixtures.
This will be the last round of matches before the mid-season break.
Matches will resume after the league fixtures were put on ice in a move meant to pave away for the National Youth Games.
Mighty Queens and Free Stars had most of their players and staff involved in the Youth Games team.
Bulawayo Netball League fixtures secretary Precious Mudenge confirmed that the teams will play their outstanding fixtures before the mid-season break.
“All teams will play their outstanding matches this weekend, to complete our first half of the season,” said Mudenge.
She said during the break they will have a mid-season tournament on 7 September at a venue yet to be announced.
“We want to fulfill all our first round fixtures before we play the mid-season tournament, which is scheduled for next week during the break,” said Mudenge.
Lisa Mangena’s Free Stars will seek to defend the tournament they won last year.
High-flying Ntuthu Sparrows are leading the pack with three points and are being trailed by Mighty Queens who have a game in hand.
