SPECIALIST Paediatric Physiotherapist, Mr Precious Madzimbe, has been inducted into the Rotary Club of Bulawayo, joining a prestigious list of professionals in the city, dedicated to serving the community.
Rotary Club of Bulawayo president Mr Arnold Mahonye confirmed the development, saying the latest edition of professionals into the club will go a long way in advocating for development and change in the city.
He said the induction ceremony was held at the Rotary Club of Bulawayo, chambers in the city centre last Friday.
“Mr Madzimbe has joined us as a Rotarian, following an invitation from the club. He attended several meetings to ascertain if he could be part of the club, and it so happened that he fit well into the system.
There are several professionals in the club from various professions, and his being in the medical fraternity gives the club a notable boost,” said Mr Mahonye.
He said the idea is to have a diverse number of people from different professions being part of the club steering for change and imparting relevant knowledge to the youth.
Mr Mahonye said Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million members who volunteer their time and resources to address community needs.
He said these clubs, known as Rotary Clubs, are part of a larger organization dedicated to service, fellowship, and making a difference in the world.
“Rotary Clubs focus on practical service projects in their local communities and internationally, aiming to improve lives and address global issues like poverty, disease, and lack of clean water. Clubs provide a platform for members to connect with like-minded individuals, build lasting friendships, and collaborate on meaningful projects,” said Mr Mahonye.
He said Rotary fosters leadership development and encourages members to become active participants in their communities and the wider world.
Mr Mahonye noted that Rotary embraces diversity of thought and background, welcoming individuals from various professions and walks of life.
“Rotary Clubs are found in over 200 countries, creating a vast network of Rotarians working together to address global challenges. Rotary Clubs are non-political and non-religious, focusing on humanitarian service and the betterment of communities,” he said.
Mr Madzimbe, in an interview, said he was truly humbled to have been chosen to be part of the prestigious club.
“I am deeply honoured to have been inducted as a full member of Rotary International. This marks the beginning of a meaningful journey of service, collaboration, and community upliftment. Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian service, ethical leadership, and building lasting peace aligns strongly with my personal and professional values,” said Mr Madzimbe.
He said that as Rotarians, they are guided by the principle of ‘Service above Self’, and he looks forward to working with fellow members to implement impactful projects that respond to the needs of the Bulawayo community and beyond. Together, we can create sustainable change, one initiative at a time,” said Mr Madzimbe.
He said he looks forward to serving the community of Bulawayo with renewed passion and purpose through various service projects.
The award-winning paediatric physiotherapist who runs Madzimbe and Tsiga Physiotherapy Clinic is better known for advocating for better healthcare and knowledge, particularly for children.
He has penned several books on various health conditions to demystify them from cultural and traditional practices.
