POLICE in Bulawayo are investigating a suspected case of stock theft after seven cattle carcasses were discovered on Tuesday at a plot located in Umguza.
According to Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele the carcasses were discovered by a 24-year-old man was walking from Lovendale suburb to Woollendale at around 10pm on Tuesday evening, Mpofu Plot E2 Umguza.
“After alerting his neighbours, they called the police who attended the scene and observed that an unknown accused person used an unknown object to strike and kill seven cattle, leaving their carcasses scattered at the scene, after having been disturbed by passerbys.
“One cow was still alive but badly injured and unable to walk. The police are busy trying to get in touch with the owners of the cattle. And we are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of this accused person and that may lead to the location of the owners of these cattle,” said Asst Insp Msebele.
