Bulawayo Schools track and field championships begin at White City Stadium

THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Province National Association of Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships sponsored by Bakers Inn kicked off at White City Stadium this morning.
Excelling athletes will be considered for the provincial team to take part in the national finals slated for Chipadze Stadium in Bindura at the end of the month.
Sikhumbuzo Ndlovu, the head in charge of athletics in Bulawayo is happy and looking forward to a better outing than the eighth position attained in Victoria Falls last year.
Raymond Maqethuka Dube, the Bakers Inn sales and distribution manager confirmed that they are sponsoring the two-day event and that they will foot the team’s bill to Bindura with the most outstanding athletes to receive cash incentives.
Both Dube and Ndlovu are excited that four athletes from last year’s team earned US university athletics and academic scholarships.
