ZIMBABWE’s second-largest city, Bulawayo, is set to host the 2025 Korea Festival on Friday at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music.

In a statement, the Korean Embassy said the festival will showcase the vibrant cultural heritage of Korea, with a special delegation from Jeollabuk-do Province attending to present traditional Korean performances.

These, it said, include Pansori (a uniquely Korean Form of narrative song), Samullori Instrumental Music (a genre of Korean percussion music performed with four instruments), and Sangmo (a traditional Korean performance art involving the spinning of a hat).

“The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Zimbabwe is pleased to announce that it will host Korea Festival 2025 on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music,” read the statement.

“The festival is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm and will feature a wide range of cultural experiences, interactive booths (K-cosmetics, pop goods, Hanji arts and crafts), and live performances.

“The programme will also include authentic cultural displays, offering attendees a hands-on experience of Korean art and crafts.”

The Embassy said the festival will also feature exciting local talent, including Salt & amp; Light K-pop Dance Performance (a dynamic showcase of modern Korean pop culture), Bulawayo Taekwondo Demonstration Team, which is a display of the martial art that has become a global symbol of Korean culture, Ezimnyama Dance Zimbabwe (celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwe).

By bringing together Korean and Zimbabwean artists, Korea Festival 2025 aims to strengthen cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries.

The event will also provide an opportunity for the local community to engage with Korean culture, fostering friendship, creativity, and collaboration.

“The Embassy expects the festival to inspire greater interest in Korean culture and reinforce the strong ties between Korea and Zimbabwe,” read the statement.
